Tragic death of local man
The tragic passing of a local 23 year old old has affected many in the community. James Walton, a former Twyford Church of England School pupil, is believed to have lost his balance whilst out on a fourth-floor balcony in Majorca. At the time of the accident James was celebrating St Patrick’s Day at a friend’s apartment.
The Sheffield Hallam student was in his third and final year of his degree in languages with international business. An adept linguist, James was proficient in both Spanish and German, and had been working Palma since September 2017. During his time there he had been working as a global loyalty intern at Mella Hotels International. A spokeswoman from the Company said that Mr Walton had been a “a great worker and companion, considerate, responsible and talented”. His University have also released the following statement: “We are extremely saddened to hear that one of our students has tragically died whilst on placement in Spain”.
Mr Walton’s family have released the following statement: “He lived life to the full and was full of joy, despite losing his father to cancer when he was aged seven. James was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know him and, as one friend said, he would walk into a room full of strangers and leave, having made lifelong friends.”
The Spanish national police have confirmed that they’re treating the death as an accident.
We at Exposure Box offer our utmost and sincere condolences for this devastating loss to James’ family, friends, colleagues and all others who were privileged to have known this charming young man.
